The heritage of Terracotta flooring dates back to the Roman period. Modern manufacturers based in the UK, Italy, Spain and China use the same handmade or semi handmade processes as our Roman ancestors.

Terracotta provides warm variegated colour which can range from pinks through to cream and even ochre tints. Available in a large selection of different sizes and formats, it is very adaptable in use. It can be laid in combination with ceramic or marble to provide a unique design.

Some ranges of Terracotta tiles have been fired at very high temperatures making them considerably harder wearing and frost resistant.

When used on the floor the Terracotta will age and wear to achieve a beautiful deep patina which improves its overall appearance. They must be properly finished and sealed to achieve this.
